Public Relations Intern (Winter/Spring 2027)

PART-TIME, 16 HOURS/WEEK|REMOTE|FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT

Kyle Arnett is a corporate and B2B PR firm helping ambitious brands earn attention, protect reputation, and create lasting business impact.

We exist to serve the companies we came from: advertising agencies, media companies, and the technology firms rewiring both. Today our clients span advertising and marketing services, media and entertainment, sports, technology, and social impact. Our work runs across seven practices, and clients work directly with senior leadership on every engagement.

Kyle Arnett is seeking Public Relations Interns for the Winter/Spring 2027 term. This is a structured, mentorship-driven internship designed to teach the fundamentals of corporate and B2B public relations through supervised, hands-on work. This is an academic internship offered for college credit. Candidates must be enrolled at an accredited institution and eligible to receive credit through their school's internship program. The experience is built around your education: coursework-aligned training, regular instruction from senior practitioners, and a schedule that accommodates your academic calendar. The role is fully remote. Interns support the firm's research and monitoring functions across several practice areas, working under the direction of a supervising senior leader who reviews all work before it informs client strategy or reaches a client.

Areas of Focus

Assignments are set by your supervisor based on your learning objectives and firm needs, and may span the following areas over the course of the term:

  • Industry events and moments. Researching the organizers, programming, and deadlines behind the events that shape our clients' visibility, including Advertising Week, Cannes Lions, CES, and the Upfronts.
  • Awards and recognition. Researching awards programs, category structures, judging criteria, deadlines, and past winners, and supporting entry preparation and submission management.
  • Media relations. Maintaining research on journalists across trade, business, and technology press, including beats, recent coverage, and outlet moves, and supporting media list development and coverage tracking.
  • Owned editorial. Capturing content across firm activity, supporting the firm's newsletter and social programs, and helping map target audiences and prospects.
  • News monitoring. Following the daily industry news cycle and surfacing potential rapid response and newsjacking opportunities for your supervisor's review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assigned research and maintain organized, current tracking documents
  • Prepare written summaries and draft recommendations for supervisor review
  • Draft supporting materials, including media lists, briefing documents, and award entry components, under senior guidance
  • Monitor industry news and flag relevant developments through established channels
  • Support event planning, scheduling, and logistics as assigned
  • Participate in scheduled mentorship meetings, trainings, and firm programming
  • Complete any documentation, evaluations, or reporting required by your academic program
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times

Training and Mentorship

  • Regular one-on-one meetings with an assigned senior leader
  • Structured trainings covering media relations fundamentals, professional writing, and the business of advertising, media and sports
  • Participation in industry events and firm programming, including virtual conferences and in-person events where available, assigned and approved
  • Ongoing feedback on written work and research output
  • Supervisor coordination with your faculty advisor, including mid-term and end-of-term evaluations

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and eligible to earn academic credit for this internship through your institution
  • Approval from your academic program to participate, with any required paperwork completed before the start date
  • Interest in advertising, media, sports, or technology and a willingness to follow industry press daily
  • Clear, organized written communication
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently between check-ins and receptive to direction and feedback
  • Availability of 16 hours per week during the term, scheduled around your classes
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work setup
  • Thoughtful use of AI tools with an understanding of their limits
  • No prior public relations experience required
